Poised on top of a hilltop just an hour outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania sits the family-owned Vinoski Winery; lovingly referred to as “the castle”. With its Château-like architecture, beautiful scenery, and spacious rooms, it was the perfect venue to host a European-inspired micro-wedding shoot.
The vision for this shoot was to create inspiration for couples interested in elopements and micro-weddings who still want an incredible wedding without sacrificing style and luxury just because they have a smaller guest count.
We were intentional in creating a design that would inspire a feeling of European elegance highlighted with the softness and excitement of Spring. A delicate palette of soft pinks, ivory, and cream cloaked in luxury textiles and delicate gold details exudes refinement from every element.
When creating the design, we showcased the benefits of utilized flexible floral arrangements for the ceremony. The lush ceremony floral arrangements by May Chester Designs that adorned the terrace were later transitioned to accent the stone steps where we photographed the couple’s portrait session. Additionally, these ceremony florals were also utilized to accent the ends of their reception table.
Stationer and calligrapher, Victoria Fiaretti Designs, crafted a suite of delicate, handmade paper, flowing calligraphy, and deckled edges in blush and ivory, punctuated by strong slates and glittering gold for added European elegance. Mirroring the invitation’s elegance, the wedding cake, created by Alex Robba Cake, featured handcrafted berries, blooms, delicate branches, and a subtle watercolor texture designed on a hexagon cake.
The real married couple, Zachary and Megan, shared wedding vows, letters to each other, and reflections on their past five years together as they stood enclosed by the ceremony arrangements. They later toasted to their marriage with a lovely Vinoski Winery rosé and an almond cake.
During a year where weddings have changed in ways we could have never expected, this shoot created an opportunity to celebrate and showcase that while intimate weddings might be a current requirement; they can be just as stunning and romantic as ever before!
